TopNotch HR Consulting Firm – Kuala Selangor, Selangor

We’re looking for a passionate Business Development Executive to join our commercial team. The role involves managing external channel partners for both online and in-store payments, generating leads, pitching to prospective merchants, continuously updating the database, acquiring new merchants to meet sales targets, and executing partnerships with external parties.

To excel in this role, you should be a proactive self-starter and a go-getter with a knack for building strong relationships and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Development & Execution: Formulate and implement strategies to identify, pitch, and secure new merchant partnerships for Pay & Later services.
  • Negotiation & Onboarding: Lead negotiations with prospective merchants and manage their onboarding, ensuring seamless service integration.
  • Channel Partner Management: Manage and nurture relationships with external channel partners to drive merchant acquisition efforts.
  • Training & Development: Act as the primary business owner for training merchants on Pay & Later solutions post-activation.
  • Partnership Formation: Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, working closely with the Business Development & Partnership Lead to drive partnership strategies.
  • Performance & Growth: Achieve and exceed KPIs related to merchant acquisition, channel management, and project execution.
  • Field Engagement: Maintain active involvement in the field to identify business opportunities and engage with potential partners.
  • Project Management: Lead projects with internal and external stakeholders to improve key metrics such as Activation Rate and Monthly Transacting Merchants.
  • Technical Familiarity: Apply knowledge of payment integrations—including offline QR and online eCommerce systems—to support merchant onboarding.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Finance, Banking, or other relevant fields.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of proven experience in Sales, Business Development, or Partnerships, with a strong grasp of the payments or fintech landscape.
  • Strong business development, client engagement, and communication skills; a well-established network is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities in English; proficiency in Malay and Mandarin is an added advantage.
  • Effective problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills to manage stakeholders with urgency and professionalism.
  • Self-driven and highly motivated individual with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) environment.
  • A strong team player who values collaboration and shared success.
Additional Information:
  • Contract: 12 months (renewable based on performance)
