Job summary

A financial institution based in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an Analyst/Associate to join their Business Coordination Planning Department's Advisory Team. The ideal candidate will conduct research, assist in preparing client materials, and support senior team members in advisory engagements. Candidates should hold a relevant degree and preferably have 1 to 3 years of experience in corporate finance. Exceptional analytical and communication skills are essential, with proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel being a must.

Business Coordination Planning Department (Advisory Team) - Analyst / Associate

Supporting advisory execution role, with responsibilities including:

  • Conduct sector and market research to support corporate advisory assignments
  • Assist in preparing research materials, investment decks, pitch books and briefing papers for clients and stakeholders.
  • Compile and analyse market data, financial information, and industry trends, including M&A transaction research.
  • Support senior team members in advisory engagements, including preparation for client meetings, seminars, and investor discussions.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders such as Corporate Banking and other relevant departments to gather information and support execution.
  • Maintain research databases, reference materials, and documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency of information.
  • Demonstrate a self‑motivated and proactive approach in completing assigned tasks and improving work quality.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to support the overall advisory function.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related discipline
  • Candidates with 1‑3 years of relevant working experience in corporate finance support, investment banking, consulting, research, audit, or accounting are preferred.
  • Fresh graduates may be considered if they demonstrate strong academic performance, relevant internships, and a high level of motivation and learning ability.
  • Strong research, analytical, data interpretation and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel; ability to prepare clear and structured presentation materials.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and eager to learn, with the ability to work independently under guidance.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and follow instructions accurately.
  • Positive learning attitude and willingness to develop knowledge in corporate advisory and investment‑related work.
  • Japanese language skills will be an added advantage but are not mandatory.
