We are seeking dynamic and experienced Senior Consultants to join our growing Energy team in Malaysia. This is an exceptional opportunity for professionals passionate about driving transformation in one of the most dynamic and fast-evolving energy markets in the world.

Malaysia's power and water utilities sector is experiencing a wave of innovation and reform, navigating critical challenges related to energy transition, decarbonisation, renewable integration, and regulatory developments. Join us to contribute to pioneering projects shaping the future of Malaysia’s utilities landscape, while also working on impactful local and international engagements.

Based in Kuala Lumpur, you will be part of a vibrant, multicultural team made up of diverse nationalities, collaborating globally to deliver innovative solutions that address today’s complex energy challenges.

Your key responsibilities
  • Lead and contribute to transformation engagements across Malaysia’s power and water utilities sectors, including digital transformation, operating model redesign, regulatory reform aligned with Malaysia’s sustainable energy goals, and enhanced customer experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tackle strategic challenges such as renewable energy integration, energy market reforms, distributed energy resources (DER), grid modernization, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Drive project execution through market and stakeholder analysis, facilitating workshops and interviews, supporting effective change management activities, and preparing high-impact deliverables (reports, presentations, business cases) for senior leaders.
  • Support the growth and capability building of the team by mentoring junior consultants and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the practice.
  • Work on a balanced portfolio of local Malaysian projects as well as international engagements, gaining exposure to best practices across diverse markets.
Skills and attributes for success
  • Proven experience in the Power & Utilities sector, ideally within consulting or relevant industry experience, with strong familiarity of Malaysia’s utilities market dynamics, policies, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of sector trends including energy transition strategies, renewable energy adoption, DER integration, decarbonisation efforts, and digital enablement in utilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver business and technology transformation initiatives, design operating models, and solve complex business challenges in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with a variety of stakeholders including government agencies, utilities, regulators, and private sector players.
To qualify for the role, you must have
  • Degree in Engineering, Business, Information Systems, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Experience working with Malaysian energy market operators, water utilities, regulatory bodies, or government agencies driving energy and sustainability initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Design Thinking, enterprise architecture frameworks, or other structured approaches to problem solving and innovation.
  • A proactive mindset and a passion for contributing to Malaysia’s energy transition and sustainability journey.
