We are seeking a MES/OT Business Analyst to join our IT team and serve as a key consultant who bridges the gap between shop‑floor automation (PLCs, SCADA, DCS) and business operations (MES, ERP). This critical role is integral to the FX/MFG4.0 solution portfolio, requiring deep expertise in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Operational Technology (OT), and Supply Chain.
The successful candidate will leverage an engineering background and strong IT affinity to lead analysis, propose tailored digital solutions, and guide their implementation across Asia‑Pacific plants to drive continuous operational excellence. This role blends the technical understanding of manufacturing systems with the business acumen to propose solutions that improve efficiency, quality, and profitability.
Lead requirement workshops to capture business needs
Translate business objectives into clear functional specifications
Analyze business processes and define logical solutions for MES and OT
Recommend enhancements or configuration changes where required
Support digital transformation and system architecture design across ERP MES and OT
Map and propose integration strategies across PLCs SCADA or DCS systems MES and ERP
Review manufacturing processes from machine level to enterprise level to identify inefficiencies and integration gaps
Recommend improvements that deliver measurable business value
Build ROI cases for technology adoption efficiency gains and quality improvement
Support Industry 4.0 initiatives and smart manufacturing projects
Promote consistent global processes using standard system functionality
Perform data analysis, data mapping and prepare legacy data for system conversion
Lead testing activities including functional testing and regression testing for patches and upgrades
Manage defects and ensure timely resolution throughout the system development cycle
Track project timelines, deliver individual tasks and manage assigned projects from start to finish
Prepare and deliver training for end users and operations analysts
Create user guides, process documentation and procedures that meet company standards
Support process change initiatives and adoption of new functionality.
Bachelor degree or higher
Engineering background preferred, especially Industrial, Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, or related fields
Minimum 5 - 8 years of experience in manufacturing or IT projects within SCM, MES, or OT
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, MES, and APS solutions
Experience with large scale MES or ERP implementations is an advantage
Exposure to production planning, plant operations, or IT and OT integration work
Knowledge of supply chain planning and production scheduling
Familiarity with order management, inventory, warehouse, shipping, transportation, WIP, and BOM processes
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Knowledge of MES functions such as scheduling, traceability, quality management and OEE
Understanding of ERP integration with systems such as SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics
Familiarity with industrial communication protocols including OPC UA, Modbus, Siemens and Allen Bradley
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle environments
Able to work effectively in both plant floor and senior stakeholder settings
Strong communication skills in English
Candidates based in Malaysia must be able to speak Mandarin/Chinese
Able to explain complex technical topics in business friendly language
Willing to travel domestically and internationally
Experience with Oracle ERP
Knowledge of IoT solutions
Basic understanding of PLC, automation and SCADA systems
Experience with presentations using Google tools
Experience in on call support for OT systems
