Job summary

A leading edible oils producer in Selangor is seeking a Boiler Operator with a Certificate/Diploma in Engineering. The candidate will operate various boilers, monitor water quality, and perform mechanical repairs. With 2-4 years of experience required, candidates should be able to work various shifts and demonstrate a commitment to safety and communication. This role includes maintaining clean work areas and documenting all activities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate Steam, Hot Water and High Pressure Boil.
• Collect water samples and monitor water quality.
• Perform basic mechanical works in the boiler room.
• Troubleshoot air compressor and dryer breakdowns.

Job description

Role and Responsibilities

• To operate Steam boiler; Hot Water Boiler; High Pressure Boiler; Air Compressors; Air Dryer.

• To collect water samples from Steam Boiler and Hot Water Boiler. Monitor water quality as per scheduled (daily). Necessary action to be taken if found any water quality issues.

• To troubleshoot on all boilers if found problems with firing and other related problems. Must be able to perform minor repairs and service.

• To perform basic mechanical works at Boiler room such as replacement of valve, servicing of NG filter, servicing gauge glass and other related works.

• To troubleshoot air compressor and air dryer breakdown problems and able to carry out minor service and repair.

• To troubleshoot cooling towers’ water quality problems. Perform blowdown if found water quality out of range.

• To understand the necessary and ability to record utility equipment operating condition data.

• Upkeep and ensure all utility equipment is in safe and good running condition.

• To record and document all works done; checklist and utility equipment breakdown event.

• To report to the utility superior on any utility breakdown issues.

• To carry out housekeeping in the boiler and utility area daily at every shift, ensure the work area is safe and clean at all times.

• Perform any other duties as assigned by the superior from time to time.

Job Success Requirements

• Minimum Certificate / Diploma in Engineering or equivalent, and certified MyKKP Boilerman competency.

• At least 2-4 year(s) of working experience in the related field.

• Able to work in any shift assigned.

• Able to support maintenance work due to emergency. Readily on-call and response supervisors request due to work urgency.

• Safety, Health & Environment awareness and compliance.

• Good communication and reporting skills.

• Self-Independent.
