  • Perform all medical equipment maintenance activities, including scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and Corrective Maintenance (BM).
  • Plan and execute in-house repairs or coordinate vendor support for PPM and BM activities.
  • Liaise with procurement for vendor quotations, purchase orders, and invoices.
  • Ensure cost efficiency by minimizing expenses through in-house repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Provide user training and support testing & commissioning activities.
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients, hospital users, and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols during biomedical equipment servicing.
Job description

The Biomedical Engineer is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the operational reliability of all medical equipment assigned under the Company’s service scope at Hospital Tunku Azizah (HTA), Kuala Lumpur, or Sabah or Sarawak region.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all medical equipment maintenance activities, including scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PPM), Corrective Maintenance (BM), and predictive servicing measures.
  • Plan and execute in-house repairs or coordinate ad-hoc vendor support for both PPM and BM activities, including spare parts or service requirements.
  • Liaise with the procurement department for vendor quotations, purchase orders, invoices, payments, goods receipt, and service return related to departmental assets.
  • Ensure cost efficiency by minimizing spare part and repair expenses through in-house repair, board-level servicing, software troubleshooting, and knowledge sharing among the team.
  • Prevent unnecessary deductions or penalties from the hospital related to asset maintenance and reporting performance.
  • Provide user training, share technical knowledge with team members, and support testing & commissioning (T&C) activities and internal/external audit programs.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with the client (Prohawk), hospital users, vendors, management, and colleagues.
  • Support and promote company business activities, including new products, upgrades, or hospital projects.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols and procedures for all biomedical equipment servicing at all times.
  • Primary assignment will cover general medical equipment across various departments, and may be adjusted from time to time based on operational requirements and management discretion.
