Job summary

An engineering firm is seeking a BIM Modeler specializing in electrical systems to develop comprehensive BIM models and support project teams throughout the design and construction phases. The ideal candidate should have a diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering and 2-5 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, along with strong coordination and communication skills, is necessary to meet project deadlines and ensure compliance with local standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years’ experience as a BIM Modeler (Electrical).
• Strong understanding of electrical systems in buildings.
• Knowledge of BIM standards, LOD levels, and workflows.

Overview

Develop detailed electrical BIM models including lighting, power, low current, and ELV systems. Prepare shop drawings, layouts, and construction drawings based on design specifications. Coordinate electrical models with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to avoid clashes. Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts using Navisworks or similar tools. Update models based on design changes, site conditions, and RFI responses. Ensure models comply with local authority requirements, codes, and standards. Extract BOQs, schedules, and quantities from BIM models. Support project teams during design development and construction stages. Maintain proper BIM documentation, standards, and version control. Attend coordination meetings and provide technical support when required.

• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in commercial, residential, or industrial projects and Data Centre.
• Familiarity with local authority submissions.
• Basic knowledge of MEP coordination.
• Experience with 3D/4D/5D BIM is an added advantage.
