Job summary

A leading staffing firm in Malaysia is looking for a BI Administrator to maintain and operate their enterprise BI infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have 1+ years of experience in Power BI administration and a solid understanding of data infrastructure. You will troubleshoot issues, manage user access, and collaborate with engineers and analysts to ensure seamless BI integration. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with proficiency in scripting to improve operational efficiency.

Job description

Maintain and operate enterprise BI infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.

Troubleshoot and resolve user- and system-level issues related to data refreshes, connectivity, access, and integration.

Manage user and service account provisioning, access controls, and authentication workflows.

Monitor platform capacity and optimize resource utilization to maintain consistent performance.

Develop scripts and automation workflows to reduce manual maintenance and improve operational efficiency.

Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and IT teams to ensure seamless BI integration with data sources and services.

Support semantic model maintenance and resolve data refresh or model performance issues in Power BI as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 1+ years of experience in Power BI administration, data infrastructure support, or BI platform engineering.
• Good understanding of Power BI Service, data gateways, and authentication mechanisms (SSO, OAuth, LDAP).
• Hands‑on experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) or equivalent database tools.
• Proficiency in scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell, or similar).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a track record of resolving complex technical issues.
