Join our growing team at Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad as an AVP/VP, Data Governance. In this full‑time role based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play a key part in driving the bank's data governance strategy, ensuring the effective management and oversight of our critical data assets.

What you'll be doing

• Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of robust data governance frameworks, policies and standards
• Oversee the data stewardship program, defining roles, responsibilities and accountabilities for data management
• Develop and deliver data quality assurance processes to monitor, measure and improve data quality
• Implement and manage data cataloguing, metadata management and data lineage initiatives
• Partner with business units and IT to ensure data‑related risks are identified, assessed and mitigated
• Foster a data‑driven culture through training, awareness and change management activities
• Provide expert advice and consultative support to senior stakeholders on data‑related matters

What we're looking for

• 8+ years' experience in data governance, data management or a related field, ideally within the banking or financial services sector
• Solid understanding of data governance principles, frameworks and industry best practices
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills to drive adoption of data governance initiatives
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to identify and resolve complex data issues
• Proficiency in data modelling, data lineage, metadata management and data quality assurance
• Proven track record of leading and delivering successful data governance programs
• Relevant tertiary qualification in computer science, business analytics or a related discipline
