Job Purpose
This senior leadership role is responsible for directing the strategic development and governing the operational excellence of the bank's entire digital channel ecosystem (e.g., mobile banking, web platforms). This role will spearhead digital innovation, drive significant enhancements to the end-to-end customer experience, and ensure the compliant, resilient, and highly efficient delivery of digital products and services, ultimately accountable for achieving material business growth and financial targets for the digital portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Strategy and Vision
- Direct and own the multi-year channel strategy and digital roadmap, ensuring alignment with the overall bank vision and executive priorities.
- Lead the strategic business development, financial analysis, and portfolio prioritization of major service enhancements and projects assigned to digital channels.
- Define and champion the attractive value proposition to drive exponential improvement in digital/user experience and performance across the entire digital suite.
- Govern the competitive intelligence process, analyzing industry trends and best practices to ensure the bank offers market-leading digital features, services, and customer experiences.
Product Governance and Lifecycle
- Set the governance standards for all product requirements, ensuring alignment with business strategy, risk appetite, and technical architecture.
- Lead the oversight of large-scale change management initiatives, from requirement definition through to stable production systems.
- Own the financial performance and P&L targets set by senior management for the digital channel portfolio.
Cross-functional Leadership & Influence
- Accountable for the regulatory compliance and control environment of the digital channels, including governance, audit, risk, compliance, and proactive fraud detection/mitigation.
- Govern the Product Launch framework, overseeing beta and pilot programs for early-stage products and services.
- Oversee and ensure timely, high-quality management reporting on the progress and financial impact of all digital channel projects.
- Establish and enforce rigorous SLA levels for system availability and performance, owning the monitoring, reporting, and resolution strategy for all production issues.
- Manage the vendor relationship and contract negotiation lifecycle for all Digital channel vendors (PR/PO and contract agreement).
Team & Division Support
- Act as a senior delegate for the Head of Digital on strategic tasks and division-level initiatives.
- Involvement in deployment process for all new product releases ensuring features, functional, regulatory requirements and standards are met prior to go-live.
- Mentor and coach junior team members and act as a senior resource for cross-functional units when strategic input is required.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and understand the competitive landscape by offering best in class digital features, services and customer experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience & Knowledge
- A minimum of 9 years’ experience in channel management, preferably in the financial services industry.
- Proven experience in developing, launching, and maintaining digital products.
- Demonstrated experience in vendor selection, contract negotiation, and managing key technology partnerships.
