Asst. Manager - Credit Assessment (Specialist)

The Assistant Manager, Credit Assessment (Specialist) is responsible for performing prudent and sound credit analysis and assessment in accordance with internal credit policies, guidelines, and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) requirements. This role plays a critical part in ensuring portfolio quality, managing credit risk, and supporting business growth through effective credit decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform credit assessment and make approval decisions within authorized limit for individual and merchant applications
• Review, recommend, and elevate loan applications exceeding authority limit
• Conduct thorough credit evaluation to ensure sound lending decisions and portfolio quality
• Detect fraudulent or suspicious applications/documents and ensure timely escalation to Fraud Management Unit
• Ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory requirements
• Monitor and manage key credit approval performance indicators (e.g. approval rate, TAT, submission trend, quality)
• Provide constructive feedback to business/sales teams for continuous improvement
• Manage daily application processing workflow and contribute to process improvement and reengineering initiatives
• Maintain default rate within stipulated targets
• Stay updated on market trends and propose enhancement opportunities to policies or processes
• Uphold quality assurance standards and deliver good customer service as a role model
• Foster a positive, teamwork‑oriented working environment.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in any related discipline
