Job Description & Summary

At PwC, our people in people operations primarily focus on managing the people lifecycle and the day-to-day operational tasks related to managing employees. This includes activities such as employee onboarding, offboarding, payroll and benefits administration, absence management, employee record-keeping, compliance with labour laws and regulations, and managing employee inquiries and issues. These individuals enable HR processes and systems to run smoothly in order to efficiently support our workforce.

Those in compensation at PwC will focus on developing, implementing, and administering various aspects of compensation, aligned to existing compensation strategies to attract and retain top talent. You will play a crucial role in maintaining fair and competitive compensation practices within the organisation.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing and delivering payroll services for a diverse range of people in different lines of service. You will oversee the full payroll cycle, ensuring accurate data collection, validation, and timely processing in compliance with local regulations. You’ll also play a key role in implementing the payroll platform and supporting the HC team through system transformations and process enhancements.

You’ll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, lead project planning, and manage cross-functional workstreams. Your insights will help clients navigate operational changes, enhance efficiency, and remain compliant with evolving payroll standards across jurisdictions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage the end-to-end monthly payroll process;
  • Support or lead the implementation of payroll platforms;
  • Validate payroll data across digital platforms, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure timely and compliant delivery of payroll in line with local laws and global standards;
  • Provide guidance and solutions on payroll-specific issues;
  • Identify and implement improvements to payroll processes;
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and coordinate cross-functional collaboration;
  • Lead and track project milestones, budgets, and reporting across key workstreams;
  • Collaborate with service lines such as tax and mobility to streamline client services.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in payroll.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and implementation (e.g. SAP, Workday, ADP, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance requirements and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under pressure.
