Job Description & Summary

A career within Actuarial Services, will provide you with the opportunity to contribute general insurance advice and consulting services to clients such as insurers, banks, regulators, and third party administrators. You’ll provide advice covering solvency, economic capital, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, company restructuring and risk control, financial modelling, underwriting, new legislation, and the efficiency of claims or reporting processes. Simply put, you might help analyse the impact that new regulation will have on an insurance company’s balance sheet or you could be revising businesses’ projections and making sure they have adequate reserves.

You will play an integral role in supporting our large P&C clients as well as a variety of cross-industry clients in a variety of ways which includes the following but are not limited to:

  • Building and maintaining product rating plans within a proprietary rating configuration tool, including configuring factors, reviewing tables, and validating logic for production readiness.
  • Supporting product refresh and model-building efforts across personal lines (home, auto, motorcycle, boat).
  • Contributing to reserving-related workstreams such as data preparation, reserve roll-forward analyses, adequacy checks, and support for quarterly or annual reserve reviews.
  • Supporting the audits of several of the largest insurers in the world. This includes public, private and mutual insurers. It also includes dozens of large firms across multiple industries.
  • Performing a variety of consulting projects that include financial reporting, capital reporting, product pricing. Also, performing operational and organizational consulting for our clients.
  • Supporting buyers and sellers in merger and acquisition activities. This includes analysis of the underlying products and services as well as potential risks and other elements that affect the price of the deal.

  • Participating in a wide range of insurance product and pricing projects, collaborating across multiple teams and workstreams (onshore and offshore), and delivering high-quality outputs on time.
  • Using the internal rating tool to build, update, and validate rating plan components, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project standards.
  • Demonstrating strong insurance business analysis skills, attention to detail, and the ability to understand rating structures, factor tables, and end-to-end pricing logic.
  • Contributing to a positive team culture by understanding team roles, building strong working relationships, and demonstrating initiative, creative problem solving, and teamwork dynamics.
  • Identifying opportunities for workflow improvement and supporting change‑order activities when additional workstreams or enhancements are required.
  • Ensuring deliverables meet quality benchmarks and preparing analyses, documentation, and reports for internal and client stakeholders
  • Participating in providing clients advice and counsel in the areas of process improvement, risk and capital management, value analyses and actuarial and quantitative modeling.
  • Participating in a wide range of projects; consistently demonstrating creative thinking and individual initiative;
  • Demonstrating teamwork dynamics through working as a team member;
  • Identifying and addressing client needs; and, Demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks while exercising professional scepticism.
  • Demonstrating ability to research and analyse pertinent client, industry, and technical matters;
  • Experience demonstrating strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks;
  • Ability to interact with various levels of client and firm management through both written and verbal communications; and,
  • Ability to self‑motivate and take responsibility for personal growth and development.
  • Advance knowledge on Microsoft Office especially Excel

An additional knowledge of either of the following would be preferred:

  • Data Analytics – Python, SQL - Visualization Tools (Tableau, PowerBI, QuickSight) - VBA programming
  • Proficient written and verbal English communication skills
  • Commitment to continuous training and to proactively learn new processes
  • Team player – committed to providing high quality and maintaining timeliness
  • Demonstrated self‑motivation and a desire to take responsibility for personal growth and development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Actuarial/Finance/Economics/Mathematics/ Statistics (B. Com, B.A (Economics) B.Sc. with Economics / Mathematics / Statistics Hons) with focus on actuarial methods and principals along with following certifications / degree:
  • Actively pursuing Membership / Associateship of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries / Society of Actuaries (or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 Actuarial Exams
  • Advance knowledge on Microsoft Office especially Excel
  • Proficient written and verbal English communication skills
  • Commitment to continuous training and to proactively learn new processes
  • Team player – committed to providing high quality and maintaining timeliness
  • Demonstrated self‑motivation and a desire to take responsibility for personal growth and development.

Work Experience ranges as below:

  • Associate – 0 to 1 year for the members / associate of Actuarial Institutions
  • Associate 2 – 1 to 2 years for the members / associate of Actuarial Institutions (P&C pricing experience preferred)
