Job summary

A leading construction company in Batu Pahat is seeking an Assistant Purchase Manager. This role involves managing purchasing activities, evaluating suppliers, and analyzing market trends to ensure cost competitiveness. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field, possess strong communication skills in English, Mandarin, and Malay, and demonstrate initiative, integrity, and the ability to work independently. This position is focused on improving procurement strategies and department performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Building Construction, Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent or 5 years of working experience in related field.
  • Positive attitude, hardworking, responsible and trustworthy.
  • Good interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
  • High integrity, strong initiatives and willing to learn.
  • Able to work independently to maintain high standards and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate with clients in English, Mandarin and Malay.

Responsibilities

  • Manage purchasing activities and develop purchasing strategies.
  • Evaluate price quotations and manage vendors/suppliers relationships.
  • Analyze and report on pricing and market trends.
  • Prepare documentation and manage budgets and cost estimates.
  • Supervise staff and allocate tasks as needed.
