As a Pharmaceutical Technology Lecturer, you will play a key role in shaping the next generation of pharmaceutical professionals. Your responsibilities will encompass teaching, curriculum development, research, and fostering industry collaboration, with a focus on advancing the application of technology in pharmaceutical sciences. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about pharmaceutical technology, innovation, and education, and eager to contribute to the academic and professional growth of students in this dynamic field.

The candidates shall be a member of the staff of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology assigned by Kulliyyah of Pharmacy and the candidates shall perform teaching, examining, and research duties and such other obligations as are normally required of an academic staff member of the IIUM.

The candidates should also undertake moral and religious obligations in relation to his colleagues and students as part and parcel of his duties as a member of the academic staff of IIUM.

As a lecturer and member of the academic staff, the candidate is required to attend any meetings related to administrative positions they may hold. This attendance is mandated by appointments made under the IIUM or through administrative directives issued by the Rector, Dean, or Head of the Kulliyyah/Centre/Department/Institute/Office/Mahallah.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development: Design and update comprehensive Pharmaceutical Technology courses that reflect the latest industry trends and academic standards.
  • Teaching Excellence: Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions across a variety of Pharmaceutical Technology subjects, incorporating cutting‑edge technologies and software.
  • Student Assessment: Create and evaluate examinations, assignments, and projects to gauge student knowledge and skills, providing constructive feedback.
  • Research Contribution: Participate in research and publication activities in the Pharmaceutical Technology field (if applicable).
  • Professional Development: Remain current with technological advancements and pedagogical strategies through continued education and active participation in academic communities.
  • Community and Industry Engagement: Collaborate with industry experts to ensure curriculum relevance and foster opportunities for student placements.
  • Mentorship: Offer academic advice and personal mentorship to students, guiding them towards academic and professional success.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from a recognised university.
  • Candidates must hold both a Master degree and a PhD degree in Pharmaceutics/Pharmaceutical Technology/Drug Delivery from a recognised university.
  • Candidates must be a Fully Registered Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board Malaysia.

Language Qualifications

All candidates must have obtained credits in Bahasa Malaysia and English language (including oral examination) at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or equivalent qualification recognised by the Government (for Malaysian citizens). IELTS Band 6 / MUET Band 4. Candidate without any of these qualifications will be required to sit for the IIUM English Language Proficiency Test.
