Assistant Manager – Production

A successful Assistant Manager – Production should have:

Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate production planning activities to ensure smooth operations and the achievement of production targets, aligning plans with the overall Master Plan and daily operational requirements.
  • Develop and maintain resource planning based on the 4M principles (Man, Machine, Material, Method), ensuring optimal utilisation to meet Required to Operate (RTO) standards.
  • Ensure timely availability of materials and components to support uninterrupted production flow, while monitoring and achieving SQCDME (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Morale, Environment) performance indicators.
  • Promote workplace safety and regulatory compliance by overseeing production activities and enforcing adherence to OSHA 1994, environmental regulations, and ISO standards through audits, investigations, and documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal departments such as Quality, Engineering, and HR, as well as external stakeholders, to resolve production-related issues and enhance performance across operational areas including unboxing, picking, supply, PBS management, and improvement initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and development for team members through coaching, mentoring, on-boarding, and career development planning.
  • Identify training needs, coordinate with HR for skill development programs, and lead initiatives to address operational weaknesses with effective countermeasures.
  • Support overall team success by ensuring compliance with safety and environmental responsibilities and contributing to related operational tasks as needed.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering, or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 5 to 7 years of hands‑on experience in manufacturing or production operations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Detail‑oriented, diligent, and capable of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage for effective cross‑functional coordination.
