Responsibilities
- Advise the employer or any person in charge of a place of work on the measures to be taken in the interests of the environment, safety and health of the persons employed in the place of work based on the applicable legal requirements.
- Support the management in conducting the inspection the place of work to determine whether any machinery, plant equipment, substance, appliance or process or any description of manual labour used in the place of work is of such nature liable to cause bodily injury to any person working or cause environmental negative impact on the work place.
- Advise and guide the Environmental, Health & Safety Committee to organize, implement EHS Programs and conduct site inspection of the place of work.
- Ensure compliance of EHS legal requirements e.g. OHSA 94, FMA and EQA.
- Work closely with HR department to conduct induction training and employee safety awareness training.
- Work closely with the relevant government authorities related to the aspect of EHS e.g. Bomba, DOSH, DOE, MPPP, NIOSH and JKJR.
- Work with the EHS Management Representative to establish, implement and maintain the EHS requirements in the following areas:
- Acquisition, construction, repair and maintenance of all engineering and building support system.
- Fire safety & fire fighting equipment.
- Emergency preparedness & response.
- Safety compliance by mechanical, electrical and building contractors.
- Establish, implement & maintain EHS programs, procedures in accordance with EHS requirements.
- Monitor and report the performance of the EHS Management System to top management for review.
- Implement continual improvement program.
- Conduct hazard/ aspect analysis with line departments.
- Investigate safety incident or accident and prepare report.
- Continually educate the employee on the area of EHS. To be appointed as the EHS Committee Secretary as per OHSA 94 legal requirement and organize EHS Committee meeting at least once in every 3 months.
Requirements
- Minimum 5-7 years working in HSE field.
- Having background in warehouse management, and project management would be an added advantage.
- Able to work under minimal guidance.
- Have a sound knowledge of ISO 45001, OSHA, FMA and other safety related legal requirements.
