Job summary

A leading engineering firm located in Malaysia is seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer to supervise a team responsible for managing maintenance schedules and ensuring efficient operations of electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, 5-7 years of relevant experience, and a BO Chargeman certification. Responsibilities include managing HVAC systems and coordinating maintenance activities while complying with safety regulations and providing training for team members.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years in Electrical Engineering and/or Facilities management, especially with high-voltage systems.
  • At least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Experienced in heavy industry environment.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise Electrical team members and ensure task efficiency.
  • Develop and manage maintenance schedules for Electrical and Facilities.
  • Troubleshoot and oversee repairs for machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports on maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for procurement and service quality.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance situations promptly.
  • Oversee building, utilities, and infrastructure maintenance and repairs.
  • Manage HVAC systems for optimal performance and energy efficiency.
  • Assist in budget planning and expense control for maintenance operations.
  • Participate in capital projects from planning to execution.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Act as BO Chargeman for 33KV electrical supply installation
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory matters related to electrical systems and facilities, including liaison with authorities
  • Provide training and professional development for team members.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for operational effectiveness
Qualifications
  • Education: Minimum Bachelor Degree in Engineering from accredited tertiary education institution.
  • Qualification/ Certification: BO Chargeman 33kV
  • Work Experience: 5-7 years in Electrical Engineering and/or Facilities management especially high-voltage systems (33kV), with at least 3 years in leadership role.
  • Specific Job Skills: Equipment maintenance, supervisory skills.
  • Computer Literacy: Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Work Environment: Experienced in heavy industry environment.
