Job description

Job Summary:

Review and provide technical input to ensure design is in compliance with the Employer Requirement, guideline, standards and authority requirement, to meet project delivery deadline.

Responsibilities:

• To check and review consultant's design so as to conform with the design standards and project requirement, cost effectiveness and practicality.
• To resolve road and drainage related site issues and provide sound, timely and optimized design solutions to meet project delivery deadline.
• To formulate effective design options.
• To identify risk and opportunity whenever is required.
• To co-ordinate projects to meet specific needs identified by the Design Manager.
• To propose, supervise and execute alternative design.
• To assist in cost evaluation.
• To liaise with authorities, clients, consultants, site project team and costing department to ensure timely delivery of the project.
• Attend site meeting and site visit.
• Responsible for technical aspects of proposals and provide technical input.
• Provide guidance to engineers.
• To comply and adhere to all matters pertaining to Quality, Safety & Health and Environment related to the job scope and work place as required by the company.
• Any other duties that will be assigned from time to time by the Management.

Qualifications:

• Recognized engineering degree or professional qualification.
• Minimum 8 to 10 years’ experience with design or Engineering experience.
• Experience in Civil and Infra design particularly in drainage design.
• Road and Drainage design review.
• Formulation of effective design options and design optimization.
• Provide design solutions to resolve site issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Problem-solving, good interpersonal, communication, writing and presentation skills, resourcefulness.
• Able to work with minimal supervision, taking ownership and team work.
• Possess the ability to lead a team and work independently.
