Job summary

A leading auditing firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an Assistant Manager to join their Quality Assurance and Technical team. The ideal candidate will provide technical support and contribute to audit engagements while ensuring compliance with professional standards. This position requires a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, and membership in a recognized accounting body. Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in the auditing field.
  • Member of a recognised accounting body (i.e. MIA, ACCA, CPA, MICPA, ICAEW or equivalent).
  • Familiar with international and local accounting as well as auditing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and conduct internal and external training relating to professional and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor and report on the operating effectiveness of the Firm’s level of quality control.
  • Ensure the quality of audit engagements are in compliance with professional standards.

Assistant Manager (Audit Quality Assurance & Technical)

This role involves providing technical support and guidance on audit engagements and accounting matters. Contributes to the Quality Assurance and Technical team through the application of technical knowledge, participation in team initiatives, and support of the firm’s commitment to maintaining high standards and upholding its reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and conduct internal and external training relating to professional and regulatory standards.
  • Keep updated with the professional and regulatory standards including conduct of research and studies from time to time.
  • Assist superiors in researching input to technical queries in relation to professional and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor and report on the operating effectiveness of the Firm’s level of quality control.
  • Assist to implement changes to the audit methodology in order to maintain compliance with the applicable approved accounting and auditing standards in Malaysia.
  • Ensure the quality of audit engagements carried out within the Firm are in compliance with professional standards and the Firm’s requirement.
  • Liaise with various global/local professional bodies and regulators on the current development issues in the industry.
  • Assist in any other ad-hoc projects or assignments which may be assigned from time to time.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in Finance / Accounting / Economy or equivalent qualification.
  • Member of a recognised accounting body (i.e. MIA, ACCA, CPA, MICPA, ICAEW or equivalent).
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in the auditing field.
  • Familiar with international and local accounting a well as auditing standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with excellent command in spoken and written English.
  • High degree of self-motivation, results oriented and able to work independently.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
