A prominent management services company in Malaysia is seeking an Assistant General Manager (Finance & Operations). This role involves advising the COO on financial matters, overseeing day-to-day operations, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Candidates should have a relevant degree and significant experience in financial management, ideally in retail or mall management. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential. Serve as a key advisor to the COO on all financial and operational matters affecting the mall’s performance, including investment appraisals, cost control initiatives, and profitability improvement plans.
Assist the COO in overseeing the day-to-day operations and capital expenditure planning of the mall, to drive operational efficiency and service excellence across all departments.
Develop and monitor the mall’s annual budget, forecasts, and financial targets in line with company goals.
Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as occupancy rate, rental income, operational costs, and customer experience metrics.
Work closely with department heads to ensure alignment between operational and financial objectives, while fostering a performance-driven and collaborative culture.
Review, analyze, and interpret financial reports to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and statutory regulations.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional qualifications (CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent) will be an advantage.
Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in financial management, operations, or commercial management, preferably within retail, property, or mall management.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational execution.
