Assistant General Manager- Chemical Sales & Marketing

About the role

We are seeking a strategic and results‑driven Assistant General Manager/ Senior Manager with a proven track record in the petrochemical sales and trading industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the team specialising in petrochemical sales with responsibilities including overseeing sales and marketing, end‑to‑end operations, supply chain optimisation, and strategic management.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the petrochemical division.
• Lead and manage day‑to‑day operations including sales, procurement, logistics, warehousing, and customer service.
• Develop and execute growth strategies to increase market share and profitability.
• Identify new market opportunities and develop strong relationships with key suppliers, partners, and customers.
• Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.
• Oversee financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, pricing, and cost control.
• Drive operational efficiency and ensure supply chain optimisation across domestic and regional markets.
• Report directly to the Board of Directors with regular business performance updates.

What we’re looking for

• Fifteen (15) years of working experience, with at least ten (10) years relevant experience in general/senior management capacity.
• Proven experience as an Assistant General Manager/Senior Manager of Sales and Marketing in the petrochemical sales industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
• Strong understanding of commodity trading and supply chain management.
• Exceptional problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, with the ability to think strategically and creatively.
• Proven experience in strategic planning, P&L management, and business development.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to drive change and innovation.
• Familiarity with international trade, import/export regulations, and regional market dynamics.
