The Assistant Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day finance operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and supporting the Finance Manager in driving strong financial governance across the business. This role plays a key part in financial reporting, process improvement, internal controls, cash flow management, and cross‑functional collaboration to enable effective business decision‑making.
Financial Operations & Reporting
Oversee daily financial transactions, including verification, classification, posting, and reconciliation of payments and collections.
Ensure timely and accurate recording of disbursements and collections in all systems and working schedules.
Review and maintain up‑to‑date General Ledger (GL) entries, journal postings, and monthly bank reconciliations.
Monitor and review Fixed Assets Register; ensure timely capitalization, disposals, and monthly depreciation.
Support the month‑end and year‑end closing activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Accounts Payable & Receivable Management
Review vendor invoices, dealer payments, and claims for validity and compliance before processing.
Oversee timely preparation and execution of payment runs according to schedule.
Ensure accurate verification and posting of collections, loan disbursements, and related transactions.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
Monitor daily cash flow movements, bank balances, and fund transfers.
Assist in cash flow planning to ensure adequate liquidity for operational and financial commitments.
Highlight potential cash flow risks and propose appropriate solutions.
Internal Controls & Process Improvements
Strengthen internal controls by reviewing and improving finance processes for efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
Ensure proper documentation, filing, and bookkeeping aligned with audit and regulatory requirements.
Drive automation and workflow enhancements where possible.
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
Work closely with internal departments to gather financial information, address queries, and provide financial insights.
Collaborate with the senior accounting team to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
Support external parties, including auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, and financial institutions.
Leadership & Team Support
Provide guidance, training, and support to junior finance team members.
Step in to lead operational tasks in the absence of the Finance Manager.
Foster a productive and collaborative work culture within the finance team.
Ad‑Hoc Duties
Perform any other duties or analysis as assigned by the Finance Manager or management.
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant finance/accounting experience, preferably with supervisory or lead responsibilities.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and audit requirements.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with accounting systems is an added advantage.
