The Assistant Finance Manager supports the Associate Finance Controller in managing the company’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with standard accounting practices and statutory requirements. This role involves assisting in financial reporting, budgeting, and providing operational support to various departments to facilitate strategic planning and decision-making.
Responsibilities
- 1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Assist in preparing accurate and timely financial statements and reports (Routine & Ad-Hoc).
- Involve in all required month-end closing related tasks to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting.
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decisions.
- Review Routine reports prepared by SSC
- 2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Participate in developing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Monitor actual performance against budgets, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- 3. Compliance and Internal Controls:
- Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and local statutory requirements.
- Assist in maintaining robust internal controls and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Review WHT and SST
- Review and approve finance related bills
- Review and Petty Cash claims submission from Petty cash custodian & billing processing
- Review and sign off on vendor creation/amendment
- Review & Approve Claims to ensure compliance
- Compliance related review (Eg:- E-Invoice related etc)
- 4. Liaison and Coordination:
- Coordinate with auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies to facilitate audits and ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with SSC and various departments to resolve financial issues and enhance operational efficiency.
- 5. Cash Flow Management:
- Assist in monitoring and planning cash flow requirements for the entities under supervision.
- 6. Project Support:
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects, including system implementations and process improvement initiatives.
- 7. Additional Duties:
- Review and sign off employee exit clearance forms
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
- Support in ad-hoc reporting request for analysis or management request.
Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related professional qualification.
- Min 3 years of experience in a similar position with a MNC company and preferably with at least of 2 years audit experience.
Skills and Competencies
- Resourceful with strong leadership, interpersonal and analytical skill
- Good command in English; ability to read and converse in Mandarin is an added advantage
- Detail oriented, possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and MS Office applications
- Experience with ERP system e.g. SAP, Oracle, NetSuite etc.
