Established in 2002, Studio Climb is a pre‑production studio specializing in comprehensive design services such as conceptual illustrations, conceptual design service for character, environment, prop and matte painting.

Studio Climb also includes idea‑generation and visual development, story boarding and directing for film, animated features and game cinematic services

In 2013, TRANS PICTURES, a China‑incorporated company was established by STUDIO CLIMB to partner with a China media industry; focusing on developing, producing and commercializing animation and live action movie project. Apart from that, TRANSPICTURES owns as well as co‑owns its titles IP; produce titles for specific third parties and collaborate with international marketing and merchandising companies with the aim to increase its IP commercial value.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Assistant Editor will be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of the Edit suite in support of the Lead. Report to Producer, Associate Producer, Directors, Head of Post Production.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain creative integrity of film throughout the production and post production processes.
• Responsible for the correct presentation of all materials related to the film, eg story reels, work prints, previews, etc.
• Oversee and participate in scratch, production, and ADR dialogue recording sessions.
• RCut and/or oversee the cutting of temp SFX and Music for the story reel.
• Responsible for creation of all outputs from Editorial.
• Responsible for publishing all cut lists/EDLS and change notes to Production.
• Monitor quality standards of all work done at audio houses and other post houses.
• Spot final film with Sound Designer and Composer.
• Acts as a creative liaison between Directors/Production and sound designer and mixers.
• Attend all screenings, studio and preview, and working with Directors to incorporate changes resulting from those screenings.
• Attend production meetings when possible.

REQUIREMENTS

• Visual demonstration (Quicktime or web link preferred) of animation that illustrates visual storytelling, believable expressions, emotional states, weight, physics, balance, appeal, entertainment, clear timing, and staging.
• 2 years production experience.
• Proficiency in Maya or equivalent software preferred but not required.
• Background in traditional hand‑drawn, computer, or stop‑motion animation.
• Deliver an approved cut of the film in the required format to the sound and music departments on the handover date.
