Job Purpose

The Assistant Chief Controller will be the in-charge in the Secondary OCC, oversees the day-to-day operations of RTS Operations Pte. Ltd.’s OCC and depot movements while ensuring a safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the rail network. The Assistant Chief Controller will take charge of the OCC in the absence of Chief Controller.

Key Accountabilities
Operational Efficiency
  • Responsible for assisting the overall management and performance of the OCC.
  • Monitor the Depot operations handled by Depot Comms Controller.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations, operating procedures, and emergency response plans.
  • Monitor real-time train movements, track conditions, and weather conditions.
  • Make critical decisions in managing disruptions and maintaining service reliability.
People Management
  • Lead, develop, and motivate a team of Rail Service Controllers to achieve operational excellence.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities for staff to ensure high performance.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Performance Management
  • Analyse operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Implement corrective actions to address performance gaps.
  • Keep track of the operational variables and ensuring they are optimized.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Discuss and ascertain OCC’s objectives and strategy with the Chief Controller.
  • Support/Assist the Chief Controller in planning the allocation of resources and operational activities based on assigned scope and ensures that they are in line with the overall Operation strategy.
  • Maintain and preserve accurate records of train movements, incidents, and communication logs.

  • Strong understanding of railway operations, train-related signalling systems, and safety regulations.
