Job description

• Responsible for presales support, technical support related to precision automation solutions for electronic and semiconductor assembly processes.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-precision assembly solutions.
• Provides product application engineering support to the Asian customer base, sales and service organizations, and the assigned company product teams.
• Reviews customer's circuit board design, related manufacturing processes, required production capacities and identifies projected production savings based upon use of proposed equipment.
• Prepares and reviews sales and customer competitive analysis information and prepares production capability and financial ROI analysis to assist sales and customer with capital equipment justification.
• Assists in defining market needs for new products features and enhancements.
• Provides valuable input for the development of new equipment specifications and product performance requirements.
• Evaluates prospective new applications, obtain all relevant information and specifications from the potential customer, identifies suggestions, determines estimate of work required to achieve results, and determines feasibility of an application for company's equipment.
• Works directly with sales, service and customers on specific pre-sale and post-sale products and process application issues.
• Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of the technical specifications and capabilities of company products.
• Research and analyses data such as customer design proposals, specifications and manuals to determine feasibility and cost of design or application.
• Provides design improvement recommendations for company assigned products based on customer feedback and determines/coordinates action plan based on product team priorities and resource availability.
• Analyzes product or application opportunities and performs design calculations based on engineering principles.
• May participate in and evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
• May use computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop/design solutions to customer issues.
• Designs, documents, and procures/modifies parts or assemblies for prototype testing.
• Develops and coordinates test plan.
• Compiles test data and documents formal report for distribution to respective personnel.

Job Requirements:

• Min 5 years and above of direct experience in electronics and/or semiconductor assembly equipment.
• Prior experience in custom automation design and/or application is desired but not mandatory.
• Direct customer interfacing skills mandatory, with excellent written and oral skill.
• Mandarin speaking mandatory, regular communication with Delta Electronics industrial automation business unit located across Taiwan and mainland China.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Candidate from global semiconductor and/or electronics assembly equipment with specialization in SMT pick and place, die placement, dispensing, inspection highly desired.
• Candidate from local/international line builders, custom automation, system integrators within the electronics and semiconductor market segment will also be considered.
• Candidate must be willing to travel within the region between 25-50% on short notice.
