A leading multinational company located in Johor, Malaysia, is seeking a skilled Project Manager to design and implement comprehensive project plans, monitor project performance, and ensure compliance with local regulations. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, significant project management experience, and a proven track record in risk and change management. This role requires effective stakeholder management and problem-solving skills to drive project success and enhance operational performance.
Design, communicate and implement detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource plans and success criteria.
Monitor project progress and performance; identify and drive resolution of operational problems to protect the project triangle (scope/time/cost).
Lead project risk management and change control processes; maintain project risk registers and mitigation plans.
Identify, source and coordinate internal and external resources and suppliers (including contractors) required for project delivery.
Liaise with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Procurement, QA, IT, Local Site Management) to secure contributions and ensure integration.
Plan and run regular project governance meetings; prepare and distribute status reports, KPI updates and executive summaries to stakeholders.
Set priorities and coordinate tasks across project team members and third parties to meet milestones and deliverables.
Ensure compliance with local regulations, site safety and GN regulations during project execution.
Support lessons-learned capture and continuous improvement initiatives across the APAC programme.
Coordinate with regulatory agencies (e.g., DOE, DOSH, BOMBA) to ensure compliance and obtain certificates if needed.
To continuously contribute, develop and implement ideas that improve performance
Ensure implementation and adherence to Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) procedures by applying to areas of responsibility
Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
Master’s degree in relevant field. Six Sigma Black Belt.
Documented experience as a Project Manager, or 5–10 years of business/project management experience.
Experience delivering projects in a cross-functional operational environment (engineering/production/IT).
Experience in digitalisation/automation implementations within manufacturing or supply-chain environments.
Prior experience working in APAC and with multicultural stakeholders.
Proven experience with risk & change management
Experience with digitalisation and automation projects preferred
Proficiency in MS tools and project tools and familiarity with vendor/contractor management
Stakeholder management and influencing skills across functions and levels
Clear communicator (written and verbal) and effective meeting facilitator
Problem solver with pragmatic decision-making and drive for delivery
Collaborative team player with a continuous improvement mindset
