About the Role
As the Critical Risk Lead, APAC, you will be the champion for Critical Controls Management. Your mission: Ensure high-risk activities are conducted safely, serious injuries and fatalities (SIFs) are prevented, and safety best practices are embedded into every jobsite process.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the strategy and implementation of Critical Controls Management across APAC sites.
- Collaborate with site teams to identify, define, and document critical controls for all high-risk activities—ensuring clarity and specificity.
- Facilitate engaging workshops and sessions with frontline workers and subject matter experts to uncover and validate critical controls using proven, practical processes.
- Integrate critical controls into all layers of work planning, including: site induction and onboarding; work planning and scheduling; Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) / Job Safety Analysis (JSA); pre-task planning and last-minute risk assessments.
- Ensure that critical controls are actively verified, validated, and continuously improved: embed critical control verification into regular jobsite observation programs; conduct focused spot-checks for the presence and efficacy of critical controls; treat any failure of critical controls during high-risk incidents as priority events, with thorough investigations to drive improvement.
- Support a proactive safety culture through the Start When Safe philosophy—work never starts until all critical controls are in place.
- Track, analyze, and report on critical control management effectiveness, fostering an environment of learning and accountability.
