Job summary

Job description

The position reports directly to the Tax Seniors and Managers, with main responsibilities including delivery and support in fulfilling Malaysia tax compliance reporting requirements to the tax authorities, Joint Venture (JV) partners, and head office. This role also requires close collaboration with other teams within the finance department and other departments within the company to support all reporting requirements.

Primary accountabilities:

  1. Petroleum and Corporate Income Tax
  2. Tax Accounting and Tax Reporting
  3. Service Tax
  4. Withholding Tax
  5. Sabah State Sales Tax (“SbST”)

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in relevant tax or professional accounting qualification from recognized universities or equivalent (e.g., ACCA, MACPA, CIMA).
  • At least 2 years of experience in accounting/taxation, preferably in large accounting firms.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, MFRS, and financial accounting principles.
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both oral and written.
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical and financial skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of staff.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.
