Job description

The AI Director is responsible for defining and leading the organization’s AI strategy, driving large-scale AI adoption across design, manufacturing, supply chain, and business operations. This role oversees advanced AI initiatives, builds and leads high-performing technical teams, and ensures AI solutions deliver measurable business impact while adhering to ethical, governance, and data privacy standards. The position works closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to embed AI into core workflows and support long-term digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities

Define and execute a comprehensive AI strategy and roadmap aligned with business and digital transformation goals.

Identify and prioritize high-impact AI use cases across product development, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and customer engagement.

Evaluate, select, and implement advanced AI technologies and platforms.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

Build, lead, and mentor teams of AI designers, data scientists, and machine learning engineers.

Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Integration

Drive seamless integration of AI solutions into existing and new operational workflows.

Collaborate with leadership, IT, R&D, and operations to ensure successful adoption and measurable outcomes.

AI Innovation & Advanced Applications

Oversee development and deployment of AI/ML models for generative design, predictive analytics, automation, quality inspection, and supply chain optimization.

Stay current on emerging AI trends relevant to manufacturing, sustainability, and digital design.

Data Governance & Responsible AI

Establish strong data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, and ethical AI usage.

Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and responsible AI practices.

Budget & Partnership Management

Manage budgets for AI initiatives, tools, and talent.

Assess and manage partnerships with external vendors, research institutions, and technology providers.

Education & Experience

Experience in apparel or textile industry

Understanding of garment construction, textiles, apparel manufacturing processes, and supply chain dynamics

Bachelor's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field

Master’s degree or PhD is an advantage.

At least 7 years of experience in AI/ML, data science, or advanced digital technologies, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Proven experience designing, implementing, and scaling AI solutions in manufacturing, product development, or related environments.

Technical & Professional Skills

Experience in AI/Machine Learning

Experience in AI/ML frameworks, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), data visualization tools, and relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, R)
