Job Description:
The AI Data Production Manager is responsible for overseeing end-to-end AI data operations to support training, validation, and improvement of AI systems. This role manages multiple production teams across various data domains—including text, image, audio, video, metadata, and research data—both locally and overseas. The manager ensures operational excellence through effective workforce planning, process standardization, ISO/data security compliance, and strong leadership. They drive continuous improvement, optimize workflows using data insights, and ensure high-quality deliverables that meet customer and project requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage AI data production teams (local and overseas) to ensure smooth, timely, and high-quality delivery across all data projects.
- Plan, allocate, and balance workforce across different AI data streams such as data collection, transcription, metadata entry, scanning, data cleaning, image processing, verification, and quality checking.
- Ensure strict compliance with ISO standards, PDPA/GDPR, data security protocols, confidentiality guidelines, and company operational policies.
- Implement 6S, SOPs, and workflow standardization to increase efficiency, maintain workplace discipline, and minimize errors.
- Analyze production data, performance dashboards, and QC reports to identify gaps, reduce waste, improve throughput, and enhance accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments (Project Management, HR, IT, QA, Product/Tools Team, Training) to resolve workflow issues, customer requests, and operational bottlenecks.
- Train, guide, and mentor supervisors, team leads, and operators, ensuring capability growth and readiness for new and complex AI projects.
- Use productivity systems, dashboards, and reporting tools to track progress, forecast output, and ensure transparent, accurate documentation.
- Support onboarding of new AI data projects, including workflow design, pilot test coordination, tool familiarization, and SOP development.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to raise productivity, improve quality, reduce cost per unit, and strengthen overall operational performance.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Data Science, IT, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in production, operations, BPO, shared services, AI data, or project management; supervisory experience is essential.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
- Fluent in Mandarin to effectively coordinate with Mandarin-speaking clients, teams, and overseas counterparts.
- Familiarity with AI data workflows (e.g., text, image, audio, video, metadata) is an advantage, but training will be provided.
- Skilled in problem solving, process optimization, and managing fast-changing project requirements.
- Able to work with flexible schedules depending on project timelines.
- Competent in using computer systems, dashboards, Excel, and other digital tools for production planning and reporting.
- Must possess own transport and willing to travel when required.
