This individual will collaborate with a team to enhance AMD’s capabilities in delivering high‑quality, industry‑leading technologies and AI products to market. Expertise in systems design validation will be essential for product development, validation, and root‑cause analysis.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate will excel in both technical leadership and customer engagement, demonstrating the ability to communicate problems, solutions, and project status effectively to stakeholders, including executive leadership. The individual will provide technical supervision and mentorship to junior engineers, influencing others as a subject matter expert and technical leader. This individual will take on consultative or leadership responsibilities for large‑scale projects or product development initiatives, collaborating with internal and external groups to represent the team or project. Show a clear passion for ensuring customer success with AMD products, combining emotional intelligence in customer interactions with a structured approach to align customer needs with AMD’s strategic business goals. The role requires accountability for delivering accurate, reliable, and complete results critical to project success, while shaping technical decisions that significantly impact multiple products or the overall product line. A successful candidate will also exhibit a strong drive to grow their technical competency and foster a collaborative and positive team culture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as “customer inside” to test/validate AMD’s customer enabling collaterals and platform engineering ingredients on internal reference boards and customer platforms.
  • Manage the execution of DCGPU products, including handling requests, scheduling validation activities, tracking dependencies and hardware requirements, and providing detailed reports.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams across platform engineering, software, firmware, ROCm, validation, power and performance, networking, and other areas to establish validation guidelines for customer platforms.
  • Leverage pre‑production hardware, such as network adapters, to identify and resolve system integration issues before they reach OEM, MDC, or ODM customers.
  • Debug and resolve issues with urgency, ensuring timely closure of problems encountered.
  • Work closely with software, firmware, and internal engineering teams to develop Proof of Concept solutions and test innovative, complex, and differentiating features on customer platforms.
  • Remain proactive and responsive to coverage gaps, working with stakeholders to incorporate test cases that address missed areas.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with PC architecture, PCIe architecture, and microprocessor cores.
  • A strong understanding of modern x86 microprocessors, server platforms, and data center GPU architecture is highly desired.
  • Experience in managing programs with platform validation is preferred.
  • Proficiency in developing validation methodologies and infrastructure.
  • Hands‑on experience in test planning and test development.
  • Participation in silicon bring‑up and debugging, with support provided to internal engineering teams.
  • Strong debugging skills at both the SoC and system levels.
  • Familiarity with programming/scripting languages such as C/C++, Python, Perl, etc.
  • Working knowledge of server operating systems, including Linux and Windows.
  • Must be a self‑starting team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to work with minimal guidance.
  • A forward‑thinking individual who drives improvements in development processes, automation architecture, and fosters a spirit of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • A passion for solving complex technical problems is a strong advantage.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Self‑organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
