Job description

As an Agronomist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success and sustainability of the agricultural operations at Virgin Security Force Sdn Bhd. This full-time position is based in Lanchang, Pahang, and will involve providing expert guidance and support to the company's farming activities.

What you'll be doing

• Conducting soil and crop analysis to assess the health and productivity of the land
• Developing and implementing effective crop management strategies to optimise yields
• Advising on the selection and use of fertilisers, pest control methods, and other agricultural inputs
• Collaborating with the farming team to monitor crop growth and identify and address any issues
• Researching and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in agronomy and sustainable farming practices
• Providing training and support to the farming team to enhance their skills and knowledge
• Maintaining detailed records and data to track the performance and progress of the farming operations

What we're looking for

• A bachelor's degree or higher in agronomy, agriculture, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of practical experience as an agronomist or in a similar role within the agricultural industry
• Strong knowledge of soil science, crop physiology, and pest and disease management
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to address complex agricultural challenges
• Proficient in data analysis and the use of agricultural technology and software
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with the farming team
