What is the opportunity?

RBC Investor & Treasury Services Malaysia is a processing center of operational excellence supporting 10 countries across three geographical time zones. The country employs a Global Operating Model to maximise efficiencies across times zones and supports a 24/5 operational capability.

You will be responsible to ensure treatment of cash and security instructions received from RBC Investor & Treasury Services’ clients in line with prescribed market, NAV and Treasury deadlines. The role is to deliver specific services to external and internal clients with high level of quality, efficiency and fostering a client first mindset.

You will be supporting UK region, working hours would be between 3pm-12am or 4pm – 1am. However, flexibility is required to support business needs.

What will you do?

  • Ensure that all allocated corporate/income/tax events and instructions are processed, validated, and authorized within the required timeframes (key dates and stages).
  • Operate in adherence to SLA and operational procedures without exception; deviations are reported to Senior Administrator/Supervisor/Manager immediately.
  • Ensure prompt escalation of operational issues that may cause financial or reputational issues to RBC or its clients to Senior Administrator/Supervisor/Manager of the team/department.
  • Ensure entitlement entries carry the correct valuation in providing accurate Unit Price for NAV calculation.
  • Process receipt of entitlements within agreed service standards.
  • Full adherence to the team’s control functions, including operations/events and End of the Day checklists.
  • Assist with the day to day administrative tasks of investigation/amendment and clearance of reconciling items to ensure accurate corporate events processing.
  • Ensure that queries raised/assigned to individuals are answered within agreed service standards.
  • Review procedures and processing on a regular basis with advice to Supervisor for process improvements (time saving/cost effectiveness).
  • Respond to all client queries and incoming emails in a timely and effective manner.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with brokers/fund managers/clients/custodians.
  • Provide assistance to the other teams within RBC INVESTOR & TREASURY SERVICES when required to ensure the success of the larger team.
  • Actively engaged in cross-training for flexibility within the team.
  • Ensure ongoing productivity by providing back-up relief for staff who are absent or on leave.

  • Good interpersonal skills and networking abilities with sub-custodians and internal departments.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or alone to achieve collective goals.
  • Good organisation skills and ability to prioritise workloads to meet tight deadlines.
  • Able to work under pressure.

Nice-to-have

  • Investment Operations Certificate (IOC) qualifications.
