Job summary

A leading international school in Malaysia is looking for an experienced accountant to manage the accounts payable function and fixed assets module. Responsibilities will include recording journal entries, verifying contracts, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The ideal candidate should have a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP B1. Knowledge of English and Bahasa Malaysia is necessary for this role.

Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for accounts payable function & fixed assets module
  • Record general journal/ledger entries on time & accurately
  • To verify agreements/contracts
  • Responsible for service tax, withholding tax, e-invoice & any other compliance matters as required by the relevant authorities
  • Involve in analysis of accounts, yearly audit & preparation of tax schedules for annual tax return
  • Handle day to day operations in the Finance Department
  • Support month-end & year-end closing activities
  • Liaison with external auditors, tax agents, bankers & other statutory authorities to ensure compliance with all matters relating to audit, tax & statutory requirements
  • Support school related activities as & when required
  • Assist in any other tasks as assigned by superior
Job Requirements
  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in accounting is required
  • Good understanding in accounting principles
  • A team player, proactive, strong attention to details & aggressive in meeting deadlines without compromising on quality of work
  • Computer literate with the ability to operate Microsoft Words & Excel
  • Knowledge of SAP B1 will be an added advantage
  • Required language: English & Bahasa Malaysia
