Job description
JOB SUMMARY
The Accounts Executive plays a key role in supporting the Finance Manager to manage the full range of accounting functions for the Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB). This position ensures financial accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting in line with MAB’s commitment to transparency and good governance as a non-profit organisation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare a full set of accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry in the Oracle system, including journal entries for depreciation, salaries, bank charges/interest, internal invoices (contra), and other transactions.
  • Maintain and manage Fixed Asset registers, including tracking acquisitions, disposals, and monthly depreciation.
  • Administer and reconcile petty cash for the CEO, including expense claims and reimbursements.
  • Monitor and update financial records related to Bank Guarantees, Fixed Deposits, and other banking matters.
  • Conduct and coordinate quarterly internal stock takes, including reconciliation and reporting.
  • Prepare financial reports & relevant documentation for Finance Committee meetings.
  • Support annual budgeting, audit preparations, tax submissions, and statutory financial reporting.
  • Liaise with external auditors, bankers, vendors, donors, and internal departments to address and resolve accounting matters.
  • Work closely with the Finance Manager to improve financial procedures and ensure compliance with organisation financial policies and accounting standards.
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Finance Manager or Senior Management from time to time.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a professional qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in similar capacity.
  • Meticulous, analytical, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and in a team.
  • Familiarity with Oracle accounting system is an advantage.
  • Passionate about contributing to the mission of empowering the blind and visually impaired community.
