A leading insurance association in Malaysia seeks an Accounts Assistant to support the Accounts team in daily operations. Candidates should have at least 1 year of accounting experience and possess a STPM/Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Accounting or equivalent. Strong organizational skills and proficiency in MS Office are essential, with MYOB knowledge considered an advantage. Formed in 1974, the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM) is a trade association registered under the Societies Act 1966. LIAM has a total of 16 members, of which 14 are life insurance companies and 2 life reinsurance companies. All life insurance companies and reinsurance companies are governed under the Financial Services Act 2013 (formerly Insurance Act 1996).

Objectives of LIAM
  • To promote public understanding and appreciation for life insurance;
  • To strengthen the market practices of the life insurance industry through self-regulation;
  • To support the regulatory authorities in developing a strong and healthy industry;
  • To enhance the professionalism of staff and agents through continuous training and education;

Accounts Assistant

LIAM is seeking an Accounts Assistant who will support the Accounts team in managing day to day operations.

Requirements
  • Candidate must possess STPM/Certificate/ Diploma / Degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • At least 1 year experience in an accounting position
  • Be able to handle full set of accounts
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Computer literate, knowledge of MS Office Application is required. Knowledge of MYOB is an added advantage
  • To handle general office maintenance and contact person with building management
