The Account Executive will support end-to-end accounting operations and financial reporting. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, hands‑on experience with accounting systems, and the ability to support group financial reporting in compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a full set of accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations, in accordance with MFRS.
- Prepare accurate and audit‑ready monthly management accounts, quarterly reports, and year‑end financial statements.
- Support group accounting activities, including consolidation of group financial statements, intercompany accounting, and reconciliation processes.
- Assist in the preparation of financial information and disclosures in compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements.
Audit, Controls & Compliance
- Liaise with internal and external auditors, including the preparation of audit schedules, supporting documentation, and audit analyses.
- Assist with internal audit reviews to ensure compliance with internal control frameworks, accounting policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Support due diligence engagements for corporate exercises such as IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, or fundraising activities.
- Ensure compliance with local taxation requirements, statutory filings, and regulatory submissions.
- Maintain proper documentation to support audit trails, management reviews, and regulatory inspections.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent are an advantage.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in audit, accounting, or advisory environments.
- Proven hands‑on experience in accounting system implementation or data migration, particularly involving QuickBooks and ERP platforms (e.g. Odoo).
- Strong technical knowledge of MFRS/IFRS and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience in group consolidation, intercompany accounting, and financial statement preparation.
- Understanding of cross‑border accounting treatments and regulatory considerations.
- Experience supporting internal and external audits, including due diligence engagements.
- Exposure to overseas listings, audit engagements, and due diligence assignments is a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines and within structured review processes.
