Job summary

A recruitment firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced accountant to manage day-to-day operational matters of accounts. Responsibilities include preparing management accounts, ensuring regulatory compliance, and liaising with auditors. Candidates must possess a degree in Accounting/Finance, have 3–4 years of relevant experience and be familiar with accounting software and tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for this position. Immediate availability is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operational matters of the accounts.
  • Cash in and cash out checking for daily and weekly periods.
  • Performing transaction key-in and checking.
  • Prepare documents for management accounts (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Management Account, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet).
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly closings of accounts.
  • Monitor bank balances, cash flow position and fund placement.
  • Assist in any ad-hoc duties as assigned.
  • Answer queries and provide solutions.
  • Execute direct tasks from superiors.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, taxation regulations and other regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax agents, banks and company secretaries.
Job requirements
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance or other accounting related fields.
  • Minimum requirement of capability in reviewing full set of accounting (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Management Account, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet); capable of working with full set of accounting is also desired.
  • 3–4 years of working experience.
  • Familiar with Excel (Lookup Features), Word, PowerPoint, SQL and relevant accounting systems (Autocount, UBS, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Malay.
  • Analytical, resourceful, organized, meticulous, responsible, with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with an organized working attitude.
  • Immediate availability preferred.
