Mechanical Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team. Working closely with R&D scientists, the successful candidate will actively work on integrating main process equipment into the plant layout. The role involves defining the mechanical features of main process equipment, interacting with suppliers, aligning technical offers, and following up on orders until dispatch. The Mechanical Engineer will support and directly modify the Plant 3D Model to define layouts and piping routings. Additionally, the candidate will oversee the mechanical development of the pilot plant and analyze its performance for scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze plant mechanical feasibility using conceptual 3D models to ensure performance, safety, and standards compliance.
- Select static and rotating equipment, and define operating and maintenance procedures.
- Assist in defining constructability schemes and sequences.
- Develop project specifications, bid packages, and work execution plans.
- Align vendor offers, evaluate technical bids, and coordinate subcontractor work descriptions.
- Establish mechanical and piping design bases.
- Support development of company standards and calculation models.
- Integrate mechanical systems and manage the Pilot Plant 3D model.
- Perform piping stress analysis.
- Support permit applications and submit documentation to public authorities.
- Follow up on orders directly with vendors.
- Assist in commissioning and startup activities.
- Collaborate with external partners, including research institutions.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with material order follow-up and vendor relations.
- Proficiency with CAD mechanical software (Solid Edge preferred).
- Experience with AutoCAD LT and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Fluent in professional English.
- Enthusiastic about expanding technological expertise.
- Knowledge of vacuum systems and carbon capture technology is advantageous.
