The Homelessness Service in Manchester has a key role in the delivery of advice and support to people who are either at risk of, or have become, homeless. Manchester’s Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2024-27 sets out the city wide approach to preventing people from becoming homeless, improving the offer of temporary accommodation, and supporting people to move on to a settled home. If you share Manchester's clear ambitions in ending homelessness and rough sleeping together, we want to hear from you.

If you're successful, you'll join a team of dedicated professionals pushing forward a high standard of service delivery, tackling homelessness head on and supporting residents to maintain or find a place to call home.

Essential requirements for the role
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, accurately and in ways that promote understanding.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to absorb, understand and quickly assimilate moderately complex information and concepts and compare information from a number of different sources.
  • Planning and Organising: Demonstrate the ability to organise multiple tasks in the most effective way and allocate time and energy according to task complexity and priority.
  • Project Management: Takes responsibility for allocated project tasks and delivers these efficiently. Contributes to the project planning process within a defined project management framework providing required information in a timely manner and identify emerging risks to the project and report these appropriately.
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making: Is able to make effective decisions on a day-to-day basis, taking ownership of decisions, demonstrating sound judgement in escalating issues where necessary. Be logical in thinking and explain reasoning behind decisions or actions taken.
