Food and Beverage Manager / F&B Outlet / Maternity Cover

An exciting opportunity for an organised hospitality professional to lead daily operations, enhance customer experience, and support commercial growth across several food and drink outlets within a vibrant organisation.

SALARY: £33,169 to £38,548 per annum (depending on experience)

LOCATION: Ealing, West London (W5)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Fixed Term 12 Month Maternity Contract

WORKING HOURS: 35 Hours per Week, usually between 07:30 and 18:00, Monday to Friday on a rota basis, with occasional work outside these times

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Food and Beverage Manager where you will oversee high-quality food and drink services across busy, multi-site outlets. This role combines operational leadership with hands‑on service delivery. As a Food and Beverage Manager you will lead staff and support delivery across multiple outlets, supplying events, maintaining excellent standards, and contributing to operational and commercial improvements. The Manager will also help shape service development, ensuring safe, efficient and customer‑focused operations while working closely with a diverse staff team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee outlets and catering across two campuses, ensuring consistent, high‑quality service.
  • Manage up to two full‑time staff and a team of student staff, supporting their development.
  • Act as duty manager and be present during opening hours, including some events outside normal office times.
  • Maintain friendly, efficient service and monitor feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Order supplies, manage stock levels in line with seasonal trading and maintain accurate systems.
  • Support trading reports, reconcile payments and cost control to maximise profitability.
  • Contribute ideas for product ranges, service improvements and new outlet concepts.
  • Assist with catering for meetings, conferences and activities across the University.
  • Ensure high standards of food safety, hygiene and licensing adherence, updating procedures where required.
  • Work with colleagues, suppliers and partners to support effective, customer‑focused operations.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Proven experience managing staff and operations in a food and beverage or hospitality environment.
  • Experience with compliance requirements, including food hygiene and health and safety.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and support a diverse team.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience of working with stock control, suppliers and financial processes.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to contribute to commercial development and service improvements.
