A leading defence organisation based in Stevenage is looking for a Safety Engineer Subcontractor for an initial 12-month contract, offering a hybrid work model. Candidates should have strong safety engineering skills, communication abilities, and experience in hazard management. This role involves collaborating with project teams and stakeholders to deliver safety assurance for complex weapon systems.
World Class Defence Organisation based in Stevenage is currently looking to recruit a Safety Engineer Subcontractor on an initial 12 month contract. (The role will be split of working Onsite and Working From Home).
Contract Duration: 12 Months (initially and then ongoing thereafter)
Hourly Rate: £80ph (Umbrella)
Overtime Rate: Hours worked over the standard 37 hours per week, will be paid at 'time and a quarter'
Location: Stevenage
Hybrid / Remote working: The role will be 2-3 days per week onsite and 2-3 days working from home.
Duration: 12 Months with very likely extension. Contracts are often ongoing and long-term thereafter.
IR35 status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella)
Interview process: One stage video interview.
An opportunity has arisen for an engineer to exploit their safety engineering skills to influence the safety aspects of one of our technically complex products. While exploring the boundaries of best practice, this will involve optimising the effort devoted to safety assurance, with the goal of balancing safety against the inherently lethal attributes required of complex weapon systems.
