We are seeking an experienced and passionate Part-time Nursery Deputy Manager to join our team at [Nursery Name]. The ideal candidate will be a Level 3 practitioner with a strong background in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and previous experience in a nursery management role. • Leadership and Management:
  • Assist the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery
  • Take charge of the nursery in the absence of the Nursery Manager
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of nursery policies and procedures
  • Participate in staff recruitment, training, and performance management
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including Ofsted requirements
• Curriculum Planning and Implementation:
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum and suggest improvements
  • Ensure that all children's individual needs are met through personalized learning plans
  • Promote inclusive practice and support children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
• Child Development and Welfare:
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for children
  • Conduct regular observations and assessments of children's progress
  • Identify and address any developmental concerns or safeguarding issues
  • Ensure that all staff members adhere to child protection policies and procedures
• Parent and Community Engagement:
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and carers
  • Organize and participate in parent meetings and events
  • Provide regular updates on children's progress and development
  • Collaborate with external agencies and professionals when necessary
• Quality Assurance:
  • Conduct regular audits of nursery practices and documentation
  • Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives
  • Prepare for and participate in Ofsted inspections
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in early years education and childcare

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a nursery setting
• Previous experience in a management or leadership role within early years education
• Thorough understanding of the EYFS framework and its practical application
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and health and safety regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lead and motivate a team of early years practitioners
• Proficiency in using technology for record-keeping and communication
• First aid qualification (desirable)
