Sports Teaching Assistant

Location: Macclesfield
Pay: £90 - £95 per day (depending on experience)

Teaching Personnel are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sports Coach or Sports Graduate to join our agency and work across secondary schools in the Macclesfield area. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about sport and education to make a positive impact on young people’s learning and development.

While your primary focus will be supporting within the PE department, you will also have the chance to assist across a range of subjects, helping students engage with the curriculum and achieve their potential. In addition, you may work with students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges, ensuring they feel included and supported.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support PE lessons and promote active participation in sports and physical activities.
  • Assist teachers across various subjects to enhance student learning.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support, including for students with SEN.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, teamwork, and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support student progress.
Requirements
  • Background in sports coaching or a sports-related degree.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students, remaining calm in challenging situations.
  • A genuine passion for education and helping young people succeed.
  • GCSE level standard education.
