Job Title: Early Years Practitioner

Location: Rotherham

Salary: £86 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)

Start: Immediate

Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

As an Early Years Practitioner, your responsibilities will include supporting teaching and learning for young children within a primary setting. You will work closely with the teaching team to foster an inclusive, safe, and nurturing environment where children can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. Your contributions will directly impact children’s learning experiences, laying a solid foundation for their future education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities that engage children and encourage them to reach their full potential.
• Create a positive and stimulating learning environment, using creativity and enthusiasm to inspire young learners.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.
• Monitor and assess children’s development, providing feedback and support to teachers and parents.
• Encourage children’s social and emotional development, helping them build confidence, resilience, and positive relationships.
• Support children with additional needs (e.g., special educational needs or English as an additional language) using tailored strategies to ensure progress.
• Assist in managing classroom activities and routines, ensuring a safe, organized, and nurturing environment for all children.
• Adhere to safeguarding procedures, always ensuring the safety and well-being of children.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective teaching and learning strategies that meet individual needs.

Requirements:

• Relevant qualification in Early Years Education (such as a Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Early Years).
• Previous experience as an Early Years Practitioner in a primary or early years setting, with a strong understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and ability to implement it effectively.
• A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
• Understanding of child protection and safeguarding policies.
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with children, colleagues, and parents.
• Ability to organize activities and tasks efficiently while managing individual needs.
• Updated CV covering the last ten years (excluding unexplained gaps).
• Enhanced DBS registered with the update service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
