Year 1 Class Teacher – Full-Time

Location: B45 Area

Contract Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday)

Start Date: ASAP

Monarch Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the B45 area. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practitioner who can deliver high-quality teaching and learning in Key Stage 1 and has a strong understanding of the Read Write Inc phonics scheme.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum.
  • Implement and deliver phonics teaching using the Read Write Inc programme effectively.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning, independence, and wellbeing.
  • Assess pupil progress and use data to inform planning and interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents/carers to ensure every child achieves their full potential.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and school events.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – not open to ECTs.
  • Proven experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 1.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of the Read Write Inc phonics scheme.
  • Highly organised, committed, and proactive approach to teaching.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s progress and wellbeing.
