Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) is recruiting two Desk Based Investigators to join the Investigations directorate. This is a hybrid role based in our Birmingham office.

You will sit within the Investigations directorate to support and assist a team of Investigation Officers, who are at the forefront of investigating reports about misconduct. You will be responsible for a range of activities and your key tasks will include:

• Conducting both witness and respondent interviews either remotely or when required on-site across England and Wales.
• Draft witness statements and other communications to the highest standards of quality to support complex and/or technical investigations.
• Obtaining evidence from external stakeholders by a variety of methods.

As part of your role, you will be expected to independently conduct interviews, draft witness statements and undertake other evidence gathering activities. You will need to be flexible and be able to work to competing priorities within defined timescales. Your primary focus will be on supporting Investigation Officers and taking direction from them on what is required from you. You will assist them to manage a varied caseload and support high priority investigations.

We investigate reports and complaints about solicitors and others we regulate. These investigations arise from behaviour both within and outside of practice, will vary in length and complexity and we apply a range of factors to decide on what action we should take.
