Overview

The Flavour Network has partnered with a high-end deli café to find them an Assistant Chef. This isn't your typical late-night, high-pressure restaurant environment; it's a fresh, innovative café where everything is made from scratch and served with creativity. As the Assistant Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef, playing a vital role in developing and delivering high-quality dishes, showcasing seasonal ingredients, and helping to push the boundaries of café dining. Best of all, this role offers predominantly daytime hours, allowing you to balance serious cooking with a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook inventive dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head Chef to develop menus and bring new ideas to life.
  • Maintain excellent kitchen standards, ensuring consistency and presentation are always top quality.
  • Support the smooth running of the kitchen during service.
  • Contribute to recipe development and the creative process, not just execution.
  • Work mainly daytime hours, with only occasional evening events.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or Assistant Chef in a fresh food environment.
  • A passion for seasonal, high-quality food and creative presentation.
